HIR Project Manager

Spending weekends working on family properties or outdoors, camping, hiking and fishing, Ben developed a keen interest in agriculture and the environment from an early age. Ben completed a Bachelor of Environmental Science (Honours) degree majoring in Ecology and Conservation at the University of Queensland.

Prior to joining Select Carbon, Ben worked as an Environmental Scientist for the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries in Toowoomba, QLD. The predominant focus of his position was to assist with and collaborate research into soil, plant, and environmental interrelations. This was then used to design sustainable farming methodologies and tools that reduce the environmental impact of intensive farming systems whilst maintaining/increasing landholder and industry profitability.

Currently based in Albury, Ben is a member of the project management team and assists with carrying out Human Induced Regeneration and Avoided Deforestation projects. Ben hopes that his interest and passion in sustainable agricultural practices and environmental science will help landholders enhance the long-term resilience and profitability of their business, whilst improving landscape system health across Australia’s Rangelands through the implementation of carbon farming projects.
