Duncan is a GIS specialist with more than 10 years' experience across the mining, water and environment sectors. With an Honours degree in Earth Science and a Masters degree in Geographical Information Science, he brings a breadth of experience from studying or working in Scotland, Mozambique, Canada, New Zealand and Australia.
After studying at the University of Glasgow, Duncan first arrived in Western Australia in 2010 and worked as a geologist across several mining and exploration projects in the Midwest and Goldfields regions. He returned to Scotland to pursue a Masters degree, and since then has worked as a geospatial consultant across the water and environment sectors.
Duncan brings a variety of skills and experience to the team, from developing digital field data capture solutions for a team of environmental scientists, to detecting and measuring erosion gullies using lidar, and using high-resolution aerial imagery to map invasive flora species. He specialises in desktop GIS (ArcGIS, QGIS, FME), remote sensing and Python programming, and is passionate about using spatial data to help solve complex problems.
