David Armstrong is a farm data scientist and field technician with Select Carbon, with a background in environmental science, GIS, and agricultural systems. He brings experience in soil and water research, spatial analysis, and field-based data collection, with a focus on supporting the development and delivery of soil carbon projects.
David has previously worked as a technical officer with the NSW Department of Primary Industries, where he contributed to field trials investigating soil constraints, nutrient dynamics, and carbon processes across grazing and cropping systems. He has also worked as an environmental scientist in the professional services sector, undertaking ecological and land management assessments, as well as in agricultural production through his involvement in a mixed farming enterprise in central-west New South Wales.
With extensive experience in GIS and remote sensing, David applies spatial data and satellite imagery to assess land condition, delineate project areas, and support baseline and monitoring activities. He works closely with landholders and project teams to deliver practical, data-driven outcomes that align with project requirements and support long-term soil carbon and land management objectives.
