7-11 September 2026. It was fantastic to see Select Carbon represented at the recent Australian Rangeland Society Conference, where Alex Dillon and Benjamin Hunter shared their work on feral goat management and its implications for rangeland health and carbon project outcomes.
Their presentation explored how spatial modelling can be used to better understand grazing pressure and identify where management interventions can deliver the greatest ecological and carbon benefits. The research highlighted an important principle for land managers: successful outcomes are often driven not simply by the amount of management effort applied, but by targeting actions in the right locations.
As Australia's rangelands continue to play a critical role in agricultural production, biodiversity conservation and carbon sequestration, practical tools that support informed decision-making are becoming increasingly valuable. The work presented demonstrates how science, technology and on-ground land management can come together to support more resilient landscapes and improved project outcomes.
A big congratulations to Alex and Ben for contributing their expertise to the conversation and for showcasing the depth of knowledge within the Select Carbon Pty Ltd team. We're proud to see our people helping advance sustainable rangeland management through practical, evidence-based solutions.
