Soil Carbon Program Manager

Dr Cameron Playsted has over 20 years of experience working in agricultural systems and natural resource management. Cameron has a unique blend of skills with formal training in soil science and conservation technology.  His expertise covers several areas including soil agronomy and carbon sequestration, plant ecophysiology, and adaptation to climate challenges in agro-ecosystems.  Cameron has extensive past experience as a principal consultant on large scale land restoration projects and managing natural capital with a focus on improving biodiversity and ecosystem function.

Cameron is an effective communicator with an ability to negotiate and deliver positive outcomes for complex commercial projects. He enjoys working with landholders to integrate sustainable practices into productive agricultural landscapes. In his current role, Cameron leads a team who work with primary producers, industry proponents and research institutions to design projects advancing nature-based solutions for soil carbon sequestration.

Qualifications :

PhD Plant and Soil Science (Rhizosphere and carbon dynamics) from the University of Queensland

Bachelor of Applied Science (Agronomy and Horticulture) from the University of Queensland

Associate Degree (Conservation Technology) from Southern Cross University
